Extensions of Fuzzy Relations Considering Interaction Between Possibility Distributions and an Application to Fuzzy Linear Program

Masahiro INUIGUCHI, Yasufumi KUME

pp. 93-102

Abstract

In this paper, a controversial point of previous definition of optimal or efficient solutions to mathematical programming problems with fuzzy objective functions is pointed out. As basis for settling the controversial point, the extension methods of fuzzy relations to the relations between interactive or dependent possibility distributions are proposed. Some properties of the extended fuzzy relations are investigated. Next, in order to illustrate the controversial point, a defect of a previous definition of optimal solutions, i. e., α-possibly efficient solutions is clarified and the definition is modified using one of proposed extended fuzzy relations. It is shown that the defect is dissolved by the modified definition.

A Proposal of Novel Control System for Reducing Train Headway

Hiroyasu OSHIMA, Minoru HIGASHIGUCHI

pp. 103-109

Abstract

A control system for cutting down the headway of train operation is proposed. This system employs the following three measures. First, the system is provided with multistep ATC, and applies the brake that is unreleasable until full stop of the train once train speed exceeds the limited value. Second, a control pattern is incorporated into the system, and controls the train speed automatically according to the pattern. Third, improved definition by subdividing train detection at its tail end is applied. Simulation result shows that headway is reduced to 116 second by the proposed system against 140 second by conventional system. This fact signifies reinforceability of the carrying capacity by 17%.

A Measurement Method of a Vehicle Position and Attitude by Use of TV Camera

Naofumi FUJIWARA, Toru YONEZAWA, Toshihiro TSUMURA

pp. 110-117

Abstract

It is important for various 3-D vehicles such as airplanes and spaceplanes to measure their positions and attitudes in order to control themselves ; they need a system which can measure them precisely and easily.
In this paper, a method of measuring vehicle's position and attitude is studied, which uses an onboard-TV camera.
This system consists of a TV camera and a target including multiple reference points, whose positions are known. Image information from TV camera is processed in a microcomputer and the positions of the reference points on the image plane are calculated, and by use of them the relative position and attitude (6 DOF information) of the view point of the TV camera are estimated. The least square method or Kalman filter is used in estimation.
On one hand, it is needed to direct the TV camera to the target in order to get images constantly. In this paper, a control method of tracking the target is studied, too.
An experiment of measurement was conducted with an assembled test system. As the result, it was proven that these methods were useful with high accuracy.
