偏心軸力を受ける座屈拘束ブレースのハイブリッド地震応答実験

抄録

This paper presents results of the seismic capacity of buckling restrained braces (BRBs) with inter-story drift in steel single portal frame. Seismic capacities of BRBs were tested as an energy dissipation device under axial load in past studies. But, loading condition of the BRB installed at the frame, eccentric axial load acts on both ends of the BRB by the drift. Firstly, to optimize the seismic control design in steel portal frame with BRB, numerical analyses were studied. Secondly, to limit the length and the cross-sectional area of damping member of the BRB, design details were proposed. Finally, it was confirmed that the BRBs had good seismic capacities in the inter-story drift under eccentric axial load by hybrid test.

抄録

The application of spheroidal graphite cast iron to a bridge deck slab is explored. The deck slab is expected to have a good seismic resistance with little possibility of fatigue crack. The dimensions of the deck slab are determined by the 3-D FEM analysis to satisfy the design requirements. Through a careful casting process, the spheroidal graphite cast iron deck slab is produced. Various material properties are tested and satisfactory results are obtained. The slab is then loaded statically. The results are in good agreement with the finite element predictions. Furthermore, the fatigue durability test is carried out. No fatigue cracks are initiated even though the number of loading cycles reaches 10,000,000.

High strength bolted joints are often used in retrofittings steel bridges members,but sometimes bolts cannot be arranged by following current specification because of narrow spacing. There is no knowledge about the performance of the joints that spaced narrower than current specification. In this paper,we investigated the slip coefficient and the fracture strength of joins that bolts are spaced narrowly by tensile tests and parametric FE analysis. As the result, the slip coefficient is not influenced by the bolt spacing. The fracture strength of compact spacing bolted joints is less than standard spacing,but it can be improved by increasing the plate thickness. The fractures strength was estimated by the conventional method within 10% error.

Our past studies have revealed only the structural performance of the buckling-restrained brace (BRBSM) members. It is necessary to study BRBSMs in a structure. In this paper, a model of a mid-rise steel structure with BRBSMs is analyzed. Evaluated are cumulative plastic strain energy ratios and cumulative fatigue values of BRBSMs. As a result, cumulative plastic strain energy ratios and cumulative fatigue values exceed required values to BRBSMs under a severe earthquake. BRBSM of developed high-performance type is applicable against so many repeated loadings of low strain amplitude.

For investigating effect of heating and cooling process simulating fire damage on mechanical properties of steel used in aged bridges, a series of experiment was carried out. The contents of carbon, sulfur and copper of steels extracted from actual aged bridges were more than those of present general steels. Heating up to 600℃ and water-cooling made the yield stress and ultimate strength of steels higher than those without heating and cooling. The reason of this phenomenon might be solute strengthening by carbon and copper. However, it might not affect the soundness of bridge member subjected to fire.

Patch plate repair method with spot welding for corroded members in steel structures has been investigated. The proposed welding condition can apply to the assemblage of thin and thick steel plates, and its tensile shear load of one spot welding was 11kN. When the patch plate repair method with spot welding was applied to assemblage base plate of 9mm and patch plate of 1.6mm, at least 2 columns were necessary to prevent the rupture at welded joints. Based on analysis results, first and second column spot welds from the patch plate edge transfer about 80% and 20% of total carrying load in the patch plate. Fatigue test results of spot welded joints showed JSSC D class.

Welded joints of modular type expansion devices are constructed with fully penetrated welds to prevent root fatigue failure at present. Here, the fully penetrated welds, which require a lot of time and cost, are revised to partially penetrated welds, and conditions to prevent the root failure are discussed. Specifically, fatigue tests and stress analyses on specimens simulating the welded joints have been performed, and their results suggest that the origin of fatigue failure can be distinguished by effective notch stress conception. In addition, the conditions for preventing the root fatigue failure are made clear through FE analyses on models with various weld leg length, weld penetration depth, and toe curvature radius.
